Mo Clark: Secrets to Plush is a full beauty destination — ombré brows, tiny tats, tattoo removal, teeth whitening, tooth gems. What made you build a one-stop shop instead of specializing in just one lane?
Farrah: Brows will always be my foundation, but my vision for Secrets to Plush was bigger than one service. I wanted a place where clients could come in, feel comfortable, and explore different ways to express themselves and build their confidence — whether that’s fresh brows, a brighter smile, or a meaningful tiny tattoo.
As an entrepreneur, I also understand the importance of growing and staying relevant. That doesn’t mean adding every trend. It means choosing services that make sense for my brand and investing in the training to offer them properly. I wanted to build a beauty destination where people trust the care they receive and have more than one reason to come back.
Mo Clark: Your page feels like a safe space — you’ve opened real conversations about menopause, stress, and faith. Why is the emotional side of beauty work just as important to you as the technical side?
Farrah: Because you never know what someone is carrying when they sit in your chair. I can give someone beautiful brows, but how they feel while they’re with me matters just as much. I want my clients to feel heard, comfortable, and cared for.
Menopause, stress, and faith are real parts of life, including my own. Being open about those things lets other women know they’re not alone and they don’t have to have it all together. Sometimes an appointment turns into a conversation, a laugh, or a moment to breathe. The technical skill builds trust in my work, but the care builds a connection with me. Both are part of what I want Secrets to Plush to represent.
Mo Clark: Tiny tattoos are having a moment, and your Halloween event is literally about making memories permanent. What is it about small, meaningful ink that resonates so deeply with your clients?
Farrah: I think it’s because something so small can hold so much meaning. It could be a name, a date, or a little symbol that reminds someone of a person they love, a milestone, or a new chapter. It doesn’t have to be a big tattoo to tell an important story.
With my Halloween event, I wanted to make getting a tiny tattoo an experience — something people can enjoy together and remember afterward. Whether they choose something sentimental or just something fun, that little piece of ink becomes connected to that moment. I love that my work gets to be part of a memory they carry with them.
Mo Clark: From Miami business trips to the Black Spa Expo to collaborating with fellow artists — how has choosing community over competition shaped the way you run your business?
Farrah: I’ve always believed there’s room for all of us to win. From my business trips to Miami to the Black Spa Expo, being around other beauty professionals reminds me how much we can learn from each other. Everybody brings something different to the table.
Choosing community has also opened doors for me to travel to other states doing tiny tattoos and collaborate with artists and business owners outside of New Jersey. Those connections have allowed me to introduce Secrets to Plush to new people while creating meaningful experiences together.
That’s why I’m open to sharing what I know, supporting other artists, and celebrating their success. I know what it takes to build a business. I want mine to grow, and I want to see the women around me grow too. To me, that’s part of being a boss.
Mo Clark: Your mom just turned 73, and you credited faith and prayer for still having her here. How does your faith show up in the way you lead your business and care for your clients?
Farrah: Having my mom here at 73 is a blessing I don’t take for granted. My faith reminds me to be grateful for the people in my life and for what God has allowed me to build.
That shows up in how I lead Secrets to Plush — with prayer, patience, and intention. I ask God for guidance in my decisions, and I try to treat people with grace because I don’t always know what they’re going through. For me, caring for clients means listening, being honest, and making them feel welcome. My clients may have different beliefs, but everyone deserves kindness and respect. I want my faith to be reflected in how I treat people.
A little glam, a little grace, and a whole lot of girl-boss energy! Farrah isn’t simply building a beauty business — she’s creating a space where confidence blossoms, creativity shines, and every client gets to embrace their own kind of fabulous. Whether she’s perfecting a set of brows, adding a little sparkle to someone’s smile, teaching the next generation of beauty professionals, or sharing a heartfelt conversation, the Secrets to Plush founder understands that the real beauty lies in how you make people feel. With faith as her foundation, community as her superpower, and an entrepreneurial spirit that refuses to be boxed into one lane, Farrah is making her mark one beautiful experience at a time. And if there’s one secret worth spilling, it’s this: the future looks bright, bold, and oh-so-PLUSH!
