A proud graduate of Howard University and an esteemed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Shamekia is the dynamic Chief Operating Officer of overseeing a remarkable portfolio of 13 clinical research sites across the country. On top of that, she owns a thriving boutique family medicine practice in Jackson, Mississippi—a testament to her unmatched work ethic and passion for healthcare innovation.

Shamekia’s mission goes beyond business success. She is laser-focused on ensuring that Black and Brown communities have access to and representation in groundbreaking clinical trials. Under her leadership, over 500 individuals have participated in advanced research—unlocking opportunities for better health outcomes and equitable treatment access.

Shamekia is a powerful advocate for Black physicians, making sure they are not just present in clinical spaces but truly heard, respected, and influential in shaping the future of medicine. “Representation matters at every level,” she often says, and she’s living proof of what it means to create that representation from the ground up.
